Ortho-K lenses are rigid gas permeable contacts designed to slow myopic progression. This is the most popular method of myopia control because the lens are only worn while sleeping, eliminating the need for glasses or contact lenses during the day.

The ortho-k lenses gently reshape the cornea throughout the night resulting in reduced myopia and clear daytime vision without any corrective aids. This is especially beneficial for athletes and swimmers.

Children can start using ortho-k lenses as early as age 6 and the lenses can be worn right into adulthood.

Our clinic has been fitting ortho-k lenses since 2004 and today we have patients in their 30s who are still wearing ortho-k lenses successfully. Adults continue to wear ortho-k lenses because they value the freedom of not having to wear glasses or contact lenses during the day to enjoy clear vision.
